The process used by the counterfeiters consists in:

- asking you to complete a database and/or give your bank references, secret codes, bankcard number as well as your identity
- sending a mail announcing that you have been designated as a sweepstake of lottery winner and are eligible to receive monies or prizes
- requesting a money wire in payment of alleged taxes applicable to all transfers
